Our last day before heading home, we wanted to focus on Harvard/Cambridge and Boston. At this point the area has become our top pick for a new home - in the whole day we found nothing we disliked about the area (save for traffic and bums).

Check out my posting "Musings" which I wrote whilst sitting at BU today, and posted on the commuter train speeding back to Providence that night. The first of two days in the Boston area, our expectations were so high we were sure they would be under-met. But quite the opposite was the case; we were impressed (from what little we saw). Spent most of the day at BU, Steph got an official tour of the law school (she was disappointed in the school for various reasons - although a law prof did meet us at our table, a Christian law prof who was very encouraging in regards to both Boston in general and Christian lawyers' org specifically) and our tabling was a solid experience; sold many buttons and heavily added to the mailing list. From here was took the "T" up to Cambridge for a film screening hosted by another org in the Movement.

Just finished a 3 day stint in New Haven (not a pleasant city as would be expected from an Ivy League home.) Yale tabling on Thurs. (perhaps the most disappointing response, due mainly to a lack thereof, though we may only have our high expectations to blame) and the Collective Shout conference that was held Fri and Sat. The conference was top-notch (as for as conferences go), with many excellent speakers ranging from survivors to law enforcement to authors to Rob Morris himself. There was only one speaker whose subject matter (pornography) was taken far to far, moving from "fruitful" to "harmful." (This was duly noted on our evaluations.) The trip up to Providence is only 1.5hrs - piece of cake.

Yes we've been a bit busy; long weekend in NYC, tiring but exciting. Got lost a few times too many, but got a good feel for life in the City; could we live there for grad school? Tough to answer - bit much to bight off. Spent today seeing the "quintessential" New England town of Essex (look for pics) and the rest of the down day doing some catch up at a Starbucks. God bless Starbucks, consistent experience with free Wi-Fi :-) Yale tomorrow, wow.

Tuesday, November 9th
Drove south to Rutgers today, actually showed up at the wrong campus, assumed there was only one Rutgers - half hour more of driving south and we were finally there. Thought Rutgers was a private univ. it's actually the "State University of New Jersey," interesting. But an acceptable response. North to CT!

Saturday, November 6th
Day in the City; started off in Central Park for a church-chilly-cook-off; 19 chillies of goodness. Hung out mostly on the west side; visited Amy's Bakery and the Apple Store; high of 53F, was a chilly day. Off to meet friends of friends at 11pm for a "night out" Gew. Micah is feeling too old for this.

Friday, November 5th
Snuck in a couple hours at the Univ. of MD after all; the sun came out and we had an encouraging response on campus. Technically we did not have a campus reservation so we were kicked out by 2pm, but we see it as a blessing we even had those two hours. 4 hour drive up the NJ Turnpike to NYC. "In the city!"

Thursday, November 4th
Got rained out at Univ. of MD - rain, rain, rain, all day. Spent all day in a Starbucks located where founding fathers met to discuss formation of the Constitution. Crab-cakes tonight.

Tuesday, November 2nd
Down-day in DC; election day (got interviewed by a News 4 reporter regarding my political apathy). Bad lunch in Chinatown; enlightening time at Smithsonians (look for pictures soon). Dinner, good company, and accommodations compliments of old friends, the Baileys.

Monday, November 1st
Day spent on Univ. of Virginia's campus (got 2 parking tickets in 12 hrs.); tempted to label the day as "mildly" successful, but we did meet a student who wished to, as she said, "spend my life on this [abolition] stuff." (she just needed an outlet) Words like that fill us with encouragement and remind us why we are here. Chilling in DC for now; fantastic Afghan dinner.

Saturday, October 30th
Relaxing day in Durham, NC (i.e. Duke Univ.). Good to spend more time with Jonny Boy Higgins (a.k.a Dr. Higgins). Steph got her results in from the LSAT, and it was GOOD...no GREAT! 174 baby (99th percentile - Ole'!); tomorrow we head to Charlottesville, VA.

Friday, October 29th
Wrapping up our time in Knoxville; two days and nights here with the Tetons and UT Navs; little frisbee golf, smokin' BBQ, local brews and great folks. Spoke at Navs post the showing of "Imagine" (watch it here). On to Durham!

Wednesday, October 27th
Hung out at Vanderbilt Univ. today; beautiful campus. Encouraging amount of interest for only being there for 3 hours. Almost a dozen sign-ups for the mailing list; one individual interested in a TaskForce. Sold a couple t-shirts and a few buttons.

Just made it into Knoxville, about to re-unite with our old friends the Tetons. Tomorrow is here at the Univ. of Tennessee. We'll keep you posted.

Monday, October 25th
Lawrence, KS; Kansas Univ.; cool town; great Kobe burger and locally brewed $2 pint last night; early morning; 10.5hr drive to Nashville ahead
